Just a couple of years ago, I found out that the typical “runway fashion” looks are not really outfits that you are supposed to wear everyday, but are supposed to look more like art showing the designers overall aesthetic and look for the brand and how it implements into their wearable collections. Before I knew that, sometimes I thought that runway fashion was really odd, and just didn’t look the best in some instances. Now I know that the outfits are supposed to be more of an art to look at, rather than a realistic outfit a person would wear everyday, I then started to like looking at the different looks from NYFW.
Although, the looks that I liked from NYFW are all from the “Ready-to-Wear” category so, the ones below are more of the wearable looks compared to some that I’ve seen in the “couture” collections. That being said, I was looking through some of the runway photos from NYFW, and there were some that I really liked, and then some that I didn’t really understand or like (i.e. Hood By Air). Some of my favorites were: Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, Mansur Gavriel, Rebecca Minkoff, and Kate Spade.
Here are some of my favorite looks from New York Fashion Week:
